The special designing done by Banjara community is named as ‘Kowdhi’. This is in fact prepared from the condemned cloth material. They are so beautifully stitched makes it ‘Kowdhi’. This practice in the Banjara community is happening from a long time. Now a short film has come with such a profession in mind.

The life of such people has become miserable. They get peanuts in the commercialization of business. Ananth Shandre has written story and dialogues for this film ‘Kowdhi’. Ravindranath Sirivar is director and also joint partner to this short film.

Set in the Uttar Kannada backdrop the main role in the film is played by RS member and Rangabhumi actor, singer, big screen occasional artist B Jayasri. Madhu Manasa Joshi, Sridhar Cauvery, Sumathi Patil, Chetan Kumar, Anupama, Venkat Raju are in the cast. For the music of Sumathi the lyrics are lent by Janapada, Hulikunte Murthy. BL Babu is cameraman, Murali Gurappa has edited this film. One of the songs of Sant Shishunala Sharief is used for this film. BR Manjesh, M Ravi, T Krishnappa, Manjunath are joint producers.

A special screening of ‘Kowdhi’ was held at Sri Chamundeswari studio on 15^th of September, 2015.
